Preparing Material for Editing

Step 1

First you need to insert the SD card into the Mac that you are using.

Then click on MacHD to load up all of the files on the Mac.

Once open click on the file that is labeled Movies so you can get to where you would store all of your footage. 

Step 4

This is where you now create a file for your project. 

Step 5

Once you have made the folder name it something relevant to what your project is this way you will know it is your folder.

Step 6

Once the folder is made you will need to make 4 separate folders for your footage. 

Step 7

Once you make the folders you will need to name the 4 separate folder Footage, Audio, Edit and Assets.

Step 8

When these files are made then transfer the files over to the folders after this you are then ready to start editing.

We follow these steps so we don't loose any footage that we have filmed and have a back of everything that we have for the project that we are doing. Also make sure that you eject the SD card so files don't get corrupted otherwise it will being annoying if you have to re-film everything.
